Fuerteventura can be best reached by plane or ferry. With it’s 3 ports it is easily reachable from the other Canary Islands by ferry. On the other Hand thanks to it airport you can fly to Fuerteventura not only via domestic flights and international flights.

How to get to Fuerteventura by plane?

Depending on your location it will be more or less difficult to find good flights to Fuerteventura. With more and more airlines offering direct flights at reasonable prices, getting to Fuerteventura is often simple and inexpensive. If you are unable to find affordable flights to Fuerteventura there should be several connections from different locations (e.g. through mainland spain). Keep in mind that fewer direct flights to  the islands offers you less crowded line-ups and smaller groups of tourists.

Most major airports in Europe have reasonably priced daily flights to the larger cities in Spain. From Barcelona or Madrid you can often find  cheap connections to Fuerteventura (e.g. with Vueling, Ryanair and Iberia Express) Flights leave almost daily and prices start as 30 euros each way.

You could also combine your trip with a short stay in the city and combine a weekend in Barcelona or Madrid with your trip to Fuerteventura.

Flights from Gran Canaria to Fuerteventura

Gran Canaria has the largest airport on the Canary Islands. Therefore it also offers the most direct flights to and from Europe. It is also offering multiple connection flights to  the 7 islands of the archipelago via its regional airline Binter. There about 10 flights from Gran Canaria to Fuerteventura each day with prices starting around 30 Euros each way and flights only lasting about 30 minutes – amazing views on the islands included!

How to get to Fuerteventura by ferry?

Ferries between Fuerteventura and the Canary Islands:

If you are planning to travel between the Canary Islands one of the easiest ways to travel from Fuerteventura to the rest of the Canaries by ferry is by taking one of its ferries. Although trips are generally a bit longer than by plane, taking a ferry is not only an affordable alternative, but also provide you a unique seaside view on the islands!

Ferry:  Gran Canaria to Fuerteventura

There are multiple ferry operators that offer trips from the port of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria to 2 different ports in Fuerteventura: Morro Jable (in the south of the island) and Puerto del Rosario (in the north of the island). There are about 3-4 daily crossings and a tript takes between 2 and 7 hours.

Prices may vary but are about 33€ one way.

Ferry: Lanzarote to Fuerteventura

Since Lanzarote and Fuerteventura are neighbouring islands the ferry routes are among the most popular crossings in the Canaries and very well connected with multiple crossings daily. Ferries from Lanzarote leave at the port of Playa Blanca in south Lanzarote and arrive at the port of Corralejo in Fuerteventura. Trips take only 25-30 min and the standard ferry tickets costs between 20€ and 30€.

Ferry: Tenerife to Fuerteventura

Traveling from Tenerife to Fuerteventura by ferry is currently only possible via Gran Canaria. Therefore, trips are between 5 and 24 hours mainly depending on the duration of staying in Gran Canaria. Prices start at abut 100€.

A good alternative might be taking a direct flight from Tenerife airport to Fuerteventura. The trip lasts around 50 min and flights can be as cheap as 20-30€.

Ferries between Fuerteventura and Europe

If you want to travel from Europe to Fuerteventura by ferry check for crossings between Puerto del Rosario and Cadiz or Huelva. Since the frequency and duration of crossings on all routes can vary from time to time we’d advise that you to get a live quote for current availability on this crossing.
